We took this very big step in the evolution of our business because we saw growth potential in Europe, Russia, Middle East and North Africa. Economic factors in these regions have stimulated the need for corporate aircraft management. There aren’t enough experienced, full service providers like Avionco to partner with the companies who require flight services, so we did what any smart business would do and followed the opportunity.
It was certainly a challenge, but we’re glad to be finally operating after a year long effort navigating the simultaneous tasks of securing an aircraft (a Challenger 850) and meeting the conditions for AOC approval. To mitigate risk and maximize the business potential, we essentially took the same acquisition advice we’ve been giving our own customers for decades – acquire the aircraft you need but ensure that there will be work for it right away. For us, that meant having an aircraft with business and customers ready to go the moment the AOC was granted. And guess what? It worked! We’ve been inundated with business since launch and we’re happy to be providing a superior corporate aircraft management service to the region.
